History of Odobo Casino Software
Odobo, founded in 2011, was a Gibraltar-based igaming and games provider. In 2012, it launched its Development Programme and Marketplace, which offered developers the chance to build HTML5 games for the gambling industry. Odobo founder and CEO Ashley Lang said, “We have designed the Odobo platform to enable and support innovation, while operating within a regulatory framework where responsible gaming and fair-play measures are in place to protect the players.”
In 2015, their Chief Operating Officer was recognised for his contribution to the sector and placed in the list of the 100 top Leaders of Innovation in the online gambling industry. In the same year the company won the eGR Magazine Mobile Gaming Software Award. Odobo was licensed and regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commission and in the UK by the Gambling Commission. Sadly despite the obvious merits of their platform, they ceased trading in 2016.
Odobo Casinos
Unlike many other software companies in the market, Odobo did not build games themselves, rather as their development programme suggested, it provided a platform for designers and operators to bring their products to market.
How to get started
The company developed a popular app called Odobo Play which could be downloaded from Google Play. It enabled players to enjoy over 50 slots on a free play or a real money basis.
Withdrawing in an Online Casino
Security, ease and speed of withdrawal, in a variety of currencies and methods, is accepted as a important feature of gaming software and in recognition of that, casinos offering games built using their platform followed the industry’s best practices. However, terms and conditions which varied from one online casino to another, would apply.
Benefits of Odobo Software
The Odobo Development Programme and Marketplace allowed smaller design studios the opportunity to bring their products to the attention of some of the best-known casinos. This gave players the chance to enjoy something different, something not found in the mass marketed products that many casinos subscribed to. One leading casino operator described the Marketplace as, “a B2B ‘app store’ for the gambling industry, allowing gaming operators to browse, licence, configure and install new game content as it became available.”
Drawbacks of Odobo Software
For five years Odobo’s system became the platform of choice for many small developers offering them roads to market that weren’t available elsewhere. In addition their integration with a number of top ranked casinos was applauded by many in the industry. With this in mind there were few dissenting voices, and most people were hard pushed to find any drawbacks in their Development Programme and Marketplace. However, there were a few negative comments about the quality of some the graphics used in the games launched from the Marketplace.
