Playtech, the Manx software developers, have released a brand-new live dealer roulette game based upon their casino franchise, Age of Gods.
The franchise, which now straddles slots, table games and live dealer, is the “ultimate cross-sell, progressive jackpot product” according to the latest Playtech press release.
The Age of Gods Live Roulette offering is the first from Playtech’s new innovation, the ONE experience, where players can play across all casino platforms and win potentially enormous jackpot prizes.
Playtech intends this to be the first of many titles that offer the all encompassing jackpot prizes. The four-tier jackpot systems ensures that players can win a chunk of the jackpot during any spin and with any bet, even smaller ones.
The Multi-platform marketing of Age of Gods, and the sharing of casino liquidity, means that players can be rewarded across all games, real time. For example, players can receive free spins in the casino, and the live casino equivalent of golden coins.
According to Shimon Akad, Playtech’s Chief Operating Officer, the release is indicative of the company’s “determination to lead the Live Casino market through innovation and by working side-by-side with our leading licensees.” Akad also promises that the business has “much more to come.”
Players have apparently taken an immediate shine to the game. Within the hours of the product’s deployment across Playtech’s Live Casino network, a player at bet365 casino scooped a £40,000 jackpot prize.
The game is built on state of the art technology, including a new user interface that presents real-time jackpot notifications. In addition, the game takes place in front of a 26 square metre, custom-built video wall. This innovation allows Playtech to impose the necessary images and graphics, real-time, across the background of the game.
Early in 2017, Playtech unveiled their brand-new studio in Riga, Latvia. Built in the city’s rich and historical Old Town, it is the largest and most impressive facility of its type in the industry.
IC Notes: Playtech are emphasising the “firsts” of this particular announcement, and there’s no doubt that that words like ONE, “omnichannel” and “multi-platform” are terms we will continue to hear a lot in the future. Playtech is correct that the pooling of the casino and live casino kitty is an exciting, and worthwhile cross-selling innovation.
Technically, however, this is not the first live roulette game of its type. Extreme Live Gaming, the Brentford-based, relative newbies to the live casino game, have already introduced such products in their Reel Roulette range. Extreme was purchased by Novomatic UK quite soon after its founding and they were quick to utilize this. Based on content from Novomatic Slots like Book of Ra, Lucky Lady’s Charm, and Dolphin’s Pearl, Extreme’s Reel Roulette games blend iconic brands with their dynamic live casino offerings.
In order to further push the live casino sector, already showing excellent growth, I’d expect competitors to continue to blend content in order to come up with more unique and “multi-platform” brands. If the slots market feels somewhat over-saturated, there’s so much room to grow in the live casino sector. We await further innovations.
